Men's Bates 8" Tactical Sport SZ

Comfy, after an excrutiating Breakin Period, and then the tread wore through and the heels broke down inside of 6 months. I'm a 157 lb Fedex courier, so while I put more miles on than most guys, I'm not a lot if payload. These boots would be great for someone who wants to LOOK like they're Blue Collar, but they sure won't last long if you really ARE B.C. Oh, the zippered sides DO make it easy to breeze thru TSA checkpoints tho.

i gave these 4 stars because the boots are great but the standard insoles are just that cheap paper thin foam that sucks, so get a better pair of insoles. The boot is a very well made boot. I work on a shipping/receiving dock so im walking and standig 8-9hrs a day and these boots have held up to the use, after a year they are beat up, the sole is about half worn down but still very comfortable. I recommend these boots to anyone lookig for a good work boot

I have bought two pair since I have been working as a Correctional Officer.. I like the light weight and the tennis shoe feel.. However the soal tends to wear out too fast.

Mine were given to me and they have been the best shoe I have ever worn. Love them for every day use.

Guess you get what you pay for. Cheap price but a very cheap boot also. I have a pair of worn out Rocky's that I went back to. Pay the price and buy a good pair of boots. The Bates sports will not meet your expectations.

I've tried 3 pair of these.They do have that broken in feel right out of the box, light weight, and do not ever feel hot. BUT with all 3 pair, on at least one boot, the sole came off starting at the heel and continued to about mid foot. If the manufacturer could correct that problem they would easily have the best boot on the market for both a job in corrections and motorcycling.

I really love this boot, I just bought my 5th pair. Why my 5th pair? Because (as others have said) the bottoms just don't last long. They are the most comfortable boot I have owned, very light weight, so I keep buying them. I guess I'm a little hard on boots, they only last about 6 months. I am very active, I wear them every day, and they do get wet sometimes. I highly recommend this boot, you will probably get longer wear than I do.

Good boots as far as feel and ease of wearing. But the soles are not long wearing as I had hoped for. I got a good year out of them and I do walk a lot at work, but they do wear down faster then I thought they would. On the plus side the leather is still in good shape and side zippers did not fail.

Purchased these boots about a month ago and they are very comfortable. I love to ride my motorcycle with them, since they provide excellent ankle support.
