Men's New Balance 8" JungleLite

First off, I really do like these boots. They're the lightest I've ever seen and they're comfortable. But I have a very hard time believing that these boots were R&Ded by Special Forces Operators. There's just too many issues with them. First, the sizing on these boots is way off. I wear a size 13 in everything I put on my feet, so I ordered these boots in that size. They were at least a 1/2 size too small. I little research showed me that pretty much everyone who bought and reviewed these boots had similar issues. I sent them back and got 14's, since you can't buy them in 1/2 sizes over the size of 11 1/2. They were fine in length but feel too wide for my feet. I can live with them but they to get a little funky when climbing up a steep hill. Just too much toe room. OTB should address this issue with their manufacturter and ensure these boots are being made to the US size specifications listed on the tag. Next, I didn't care for the sausage laces at all and replaced them with 550 paracord, which in my opinion should be standard on the JungleLites too (apparently comes standard on the DesertLite Boots). It seemed like a worthy attempt to solve an issue that some boot wearers have, but for me, they turned out to be worthless. They stay tied alright, but they have too much stretch and the boots end up loosening during wear. The 550 paracord was an improvement that also should be addressed by OTB. Other than that, I really like them. I've worn them several times when stomping around in the jungles of Okinawa and they've performed fine. They're not as stable as some of my other boots because of the looseness due to width, but I make them work.
