Men's Tactical Research Maintainer CT

I bought these boots when I was retraining in Texas to replace the horrible ones my unit gave me. At first they were hard to break in, but after about 1 month of constant wear they finally did. Wore them in the shower a couple of times to loosen them up a little too. Now they are the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. A few problems, they show wear quite badly. The sides of the boots show wear into the leather after just 7-8 months of wear. Also the rubber on the bottom must be a cheap quality as it sounds like I have heels on when I walk. They kind of "clak" when I step no matter what. The bottoms are also completely worn out, there is no pattern left on them and they looks more like rain slicks now. But still very comfortable.

Been looking for a boot that could stand the battering and beating that I give to foot wear. These boots take it all and keep asking for more. They are a bit rough at first on the feet but what boot isn't when you haven't broke them in yet. A great buy for the price.

Honestly this is without a doubt the best boot I have ever had. The interior is comfortable and form fitting, just like wearing my favorite shoes(Airwalks). They are not loose in the slightest, I hardly notice them, and can run no problem in them. I am also have done Martial arts most my life and can tell you I can kick about anything with accuracy due to the tight and light fit. There is another type Maintainer that's American made. Unfortunantely I have to give China this one. The Belleville "Maintainer 630 ST" is just a bald version of the generic boots and at least another $50 more expensive. The gentleman at the LCI store told me they were the same, but I can tell you there is no comparison. As long as the "Tactical Research Maintainer CT" is available, I will be ordering the "REAL" maintainer boot. The "630 ST" may as well be sold at a swap meet. If there is ever a black version made, I will be buying it for mountain hiking as well. Hats off to the designers of this boot.

So I work in Air Trans and I loved how lightweight and comfortable this boot felt around my foot. I have flatter/wider feet and I loved the support these gave. However, part of the boot dug into the front of my ankle so bad I could barely move it at the end of the day. I also took some flak for them looking like "moon boots" but those in the know understand that for our job function is more important than form in the case of boots. So, overall I would say one of the most comfortable boots around my foot I have ever seen, but the stiff ankle support made it a no go for me. I'm sure if I wanted to tough it out they would break in, but for the money I should not have to do that...
