MILITARY BOOTS NEWS
Your Resource for Everything Military Boots
For three weeks we’ve asked a different question, and we’ve had more than three super-amazing responses. Now it’s time to ask the fourth and final question.
Since military boots aren’t worn by the average joe or jane, we’re pretty sure those who do zip up a pair are some of the most influential and inspiriting people around. That’s why we want to know: What challenge have you overcome while wearing boots?
Share your stories in the comments section to win a FREE pair of Women’s Magnum 8” Stealth Force SZ WPi. We’ll announce the winner on Thursday, Sept. 30. While you’re at it, be sure to check out Magnum on Facebook and Twitter.
This contest is open to the U.S. and Canada only. If the winner’s size is out of stock, Magnum will replace with another style of equal of lesser value.

It’s easy to select shoes based on looks alone. Especially in the world of fashion, where coolness consistently trumps functionality.
Ironically enough, it’s a path typically filled with frequent blisters, cramping ankles and even sore knees. Because when you walk a mile in the wrong boots (or ones with six-inch heels), it can seriously make or break any situation. It can also leave you injured for days, even weeks.
Now Magnum’s 8” Stealth Force SZ WPi boots for women aren’t something that would stop a window shopper. It doesn’t illicit the oohs and aahs as, say, a pair of platform Christian Loubitins. Actually, the first thing that came to mind when I opened the box was Reebok high-tops. But these aren’t boots for the runway. They were made to meet the challenges of everyday.
I wore my Magnums to work, on the trail, to the mall, to lunch and even dinner. What I found was a boot with awesome functionality. I could easily maneuver any which way confidently. I knew that I wouldn’t slip or slide on any uncertain terrain because of the X-Traction Zone outsole.

What’s great about these boots is that the padding on the sole makes for low impact when walking. Its ability to cushion the foot, even on uneven surfaces, is amazing. It’s almost as if there are microscopic pillows underneath your feet ready to soften any blow.
I tested the waterproofing ability of the boots ion-mask coating by dumping a bottle of water on them. Even in a cascade of water from the top of the boot down, no liquid penetrated the boot. The water immediately beaded up and rolled right off. Watch a video of this test below.
The only downside? The boots did hug a little too tightly on my calves. In fact, if I hadn’t worn the proper socks, I’m pretty sure I would have acquired some small blisters. Perhaps the boots needed more of a break-in period.
Bottom line: These women’s boots have a comfy fit that makes you feel like you can conquer the world.

Countless hours of volunteering in my community. My wife and our two sons and myself are quite involved in doing what we can to ease the hardships of others in our community. I am on the board of directors for our local food bank, we volunteer thousands of hours there helping to feed those less fortunate. I am also involved in my local hunting and fishing club and trying to establish a “Hunters for the Hungry” program. Also exposing new users to our hunting/fishing heritage.
I’ve also (still trying) to overcome a year of being out of work myself…
No better way to help yourself then to begin by helping others!

I work in construction and I have found that duty boots are the most comfortable and lightest weight boots that meet or exceed all of the safety requirements by OSHA for Commercial construction jobs sites. They allow me to be more nimble and navigate the often hazardous conditions I encounter daily and look great doing it!

I want to try a pair of these boots to see how they work for our 3-gun competitions in rough terrain.

The biggest thing to overcome while wearing boots is taking care of my feet. I am picky about what I wear and they need to support me while I chase people, trudge through tundra, brush, nasty houses, street grime, or whatever the streets and calls dictate. Quality is a must. I don’t want to have to worry about my feet and if I am in a good pair of quality boots…the biggest thing I should have to overcome is getting home safe, not worrying about my tootsies.

Well, I can easily say I’ve hopped fences in high heels and skirts, yet I can’t say I’ve ever faced any challenges in boots. I guess trekking up and down mountains looking for adventures, or trying to dig my Oldsmobile out of the mud when it got stuck, but really none of that ever struck me as a challenge, just and adventure. And I am full of adventures that span from exploring ghost towns, mine ruins, trail blazing and river walking, hunting, fishing, and of course chasing a 2 year old around. Although of all things I think dealing with a non-stop little boy who is nothing but trouble is definitely the hardest!

I occasionally help a friend on her farm, and have relied on rain boots to keep my feet dry. Unfortunately, they have a tendency to get stuck in the mud, and I’ve spent 5 minutes trying to extract my boot from the mud while keeping it on my foot (no room for undershoes, you see) on more than one occasion. A pair of these would certainly solve THAT problem.

The biggest challenge I have overcome while wearing boots is the challenge of becoming a better EMT. Whether it be ride-alongs, working in the hospital or even just going to class my boots have been helpful in achieving my goals.
However, I’ve never had a pair of medic boots and would love to win a pair of magnums. The boots I am talking about are cowboy boots, and need to make the switch soon, because I am applying for Paramedic school this spring and will need the equipment.
Thanks for hosting this contest!

I have never had a pair of Magnums but would love to give them a try. I have been to some really tough concerts while wearing good boots and it saved my feet from being stomped.A friend of mine wore tennis shoes and got her toe broken at a concert so good boots are important!

I’ve chased numerous people while wearing my Magnum’s! I’ve worn them for 39 hours straight once! I wear em all year round and they are great! I’ve had this pair for pretty close to 3 years now and although I’ve worn out the sole they have stood up pretty good.
