New Boot on the Block: Lion Technical Footwear

Plenty of firefighters sport military boots from Magnum to Danner because of their extreme durability, but we’re fairly certain the same cannot be said about those in the military. But just in case curiosity takes hold, check out Lion Technical Footwear’s fancy new fire boots.

The first thing we noticed about the new 12-inch lace-up boots is the hefty price tag. A pair costs $325.99. Like anything, you get what you pay for.

With a side zipper, the boots can easily be slipped on when you need to spring into action. By researching firefighting ergonomics, the manufacturer was able to include an orthopedic-specific design that keeps feet comfortable and injury-free.

Moreover, the boot brings together top-grain leather and a steel toecap with Vibram Nitrile rubber reinforcements. While the former prevents water absorption, the latter protects the toes from any damaging encounters.

The new line from Lion Technical Footwear is officially making its debut this week at the Fire Department’s Instructors Conference in Indianapolis.

What do you think of Lion’s new boots? Will you be testing out a pair?
