About Bates
- It all started with men's dress shoes. In 1885 Bates Shoe Company was just a tiny dress footwear manufacturer. More than seven decades later, the company narrowed its focus to create a uniform dress shoe specifically for the U.S. Navy. From there, its uniform footwear line exploded onto the market. I own these in the older black leather and in the tan/desert suede and will soon purchase them in the sage green. I wore both for many, many years and they held up great. They were incredibly comfortable. So comfortable that I preferred these while on deployment than any other brand!

I bought these boots when I was in tech school, they lasted me a very long time. These boots are the most comfortable, most light weight boots I have ever bought or been issued. They are also very durable. I would recommend these boots to anyone and I am glad I was still able to find the same style today.
